Thanks very much for your time.

I will go on the Joomla site. Thanks for figuring it out. Actually I just had a visitor who complained about sessions not starting. This could be related.

I'll try that cocoa thing. It looks much better than myadmin.

Thanks again for all,

Norbert

Hi,

back again.

I sorted the session thing. Now I can see the session in the table with userid null and everything but it still doesn't show the guests.

Can you please have a look again?

Thanks,

Norbert

I really cant see any of that action from my side.
I believe that the guest session user_id should not be "Null", but rather "0". Can you tell me what you did to get the sessions back? Can you set the default values for the guest to be zero instead of empty or null?

If not, and they are in fact empty or NULL you would need to open of this page
/modules/mod_moolet_online/mod_moolet_online.inc.php

change very instance of:
guest = 0

to:
guest = ''

Probably lines 72 and 90

Re:No guests 1 Year, 1 Month ago
I followed a trick from the joomla forums because my host didn't want to make the sessions directory writable. I created a new directory for sessions and defined it in the configuration.

I don't know how to change those things in data_base_.

I applied what you suggested but then it came up with this error:

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /mnt/data/accounts/g/goprophoto/data/www/modules/mod_moolet_online/mod_moolet_online.inc.php on line 75

so I put it back as it was. I guess I will have to do without guests. Unless i figure out something.

Thanks again.

Norbert

Re: No Joomla guests - Missing Sessions 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Norbert - this is starting to confuse me.

I have never heard of a "sessions directory" for a joomla install, sessions should be written to the data_base_, not the file system. Unless they are writing PHP sessions to the file system inside your website or something of that nature, then having joomla read those, then enter then into the data_base_.

1) can you send me the _link_ that told you to do that so I can go see what they were telling you?

2) Can you tell the your joomla version number?

3) Can you tell me the Operating system of the website host?

thanks

brian

Re: No Joomla guests - Missing Sessions 1 Year, 1 Month ago
I don't know all that much about data_base_s and server stuff. I just realized that my sessions directory was unwritable. So I applied this fix: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,50977.msg274052.html#msg274052

I use joomla 1.0.12 on a linux server.

Thanks for your help.
