Inacurracy with directions - better solution 1 Year, 3 Months ago
I would absoultely need some backend parameters where I can put in exact langitude and longitude of a place as the typed address version is quite inaccurate...
any quick fix or good solution to get this done?
thx

fabs,
The reason I made this map was because there were other m_applet_s out there and they all used that system allready, I wanted a directions _base_d m_applet_ which I could not find as a joomla module.

I believe I commented out that part of the code in the google api and replaced it with my directions code.

I not sure why you would use my moolet over a regular m_applet_ if you want langitude and longitude as that allready exists out there as joomla modules, is it because of the mootools effects?, the lightbox feature?

I guess to answer your question it would be fairly easy to revert the API code and release a version that way if it would be of value to folks

let me know about those to questions and I will see if I can get to that in the next few days

I tried to put directions in the modue and the arrow was ALWAYS off the exact location!! SO maybe you should make a fdropdown to choose between longitude langitude and directions?
I love the light box feature. Unfortunately the module still needs to be very wide so it displays correctly. I would love to have a module width of a normal sidebar (180px??) and the map in that module and with lightbox opening it up big.

lightbox is always great as it prevent page reloads for widgets like this map. SO after closing the map you are still on the same content page and don't need to navigate so much.

BTW Brian, please make the module language _base_d with an extra language file. Because I could not use it as is on my site whiicih is three languages. I will soon live in Spain, I am from Germany and have maany international friends. So I need these three languages and have visitors with different languages.
Would be great!
Thx

actually the words are coming from google maps, there is a value in the API you send to google to change languages.

For example:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=us

could be
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=de

I could add that parameter to the module.will do on next release
