Your Recent Visitors Moolet is the star of my site (see _link_ below) and has helped it grow immensely. Unfortunately, I had to move to a new server and am now hosted on GoDaddy. I am running Joomla 1.0.12.

When we moved to the new server, we got this message:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/usr/local/mysql-5.0/data/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/j/l/s/jlsaloff/html/PDB/modules/mod_moolet_recent_visitors/mod_moolet_recent_visitors.inc.php on line 58

I tried updating the Moolet to 1.0.1, but still have the error. I had to pull the site down temporarily. Is this an error with the Moolet? Or due to the move? Also, I learned I was missing the "ioncube_loader" - I've asked that be installed, but don't know if it is yet. Would not having this make the difference?

Hello,
Godaddy has their security settings so tight the moolet can not pass the data_base_ login info, so it fails. There is nothing I can do for shared hosts like this.

I so know godaddy now has linux hosting on shared accounts
Can you tell me if you chose the linux or windows flavor?

Let me see if I can explain this. GoMommy will allow a phop _script_ to log into the data_base_ with no trouble, I got your email and
that login method is fine.

The issue here is the moolet is not a page that does a data_base_
call and then posts the members. It is a page that has a timer
that goes out say every 30 seconds to another page (using AJAX)
to check up on the users and update the html on the fly. The'
security violation is on that the page being AJAX'ed in is not
allowed to make a data_base_ call in with the way the host has
their php.ini file set up for the server.

So there is nothing I can do. There is no way to rewrite this.
It is simply a sad reality that Moolets do not run on many
shared hosting services.

Sorry. If the are moolet is very important you will probably need
to move the site to a provider that does not have this blocked.
